The WeddingWire Couples Choice Awards 2014 Winner recipients once again include 3 Oceans Entertainment DJ Photo Video Event and Wedding DJ Photography and Videography services, based in Phoenix Arizona and serving the greater Phoenix Metropolitan area, plus Sedona.
Robbie and I are very happy to be included, and I can’t help a little horn tooting. It’s just that VERY FEW Wedding vendors can claim this award every single time it’s been presented, right back to the very first one in 2009. I just have to feel like that’s pretty cool.
We were WeddingWire rated back in 2008 before this program even began! Please visit www.threeoceansentertainment.com for more information on award winning DJ, Photo, and Video services in the Valley of the Sun for your wedding or special event.
It was a beautiful sunny day with sunshine as a prevailing theme, with lots of love and laughter.
Our friends SJA Studios were there to Photograph; as always Steven Aquilino did a great job and took good care of the Bride and Groom. The cake was made by Sedona Sweet Arts and was yummy! Mountain High Flowers made it beautiful with floral arrangements, and the Officiant was even a treasured friend of the family! Katie Draxler and her staff at Sedona Golf Resort did such a fantastic job, as they always do, bringing it all together.
3 Oceans Entertainment used a fresh, modern style to showcase Trisha and Steve as a couple, and also our videography style at this very moment, in September of 2013. Please click on the link through the photo to see a 13 minute sample of the Trisha and Steve’s Sedona AZ Wedding Video, and other videos posted on our 3 Oceans Entertainment YouTube Channel.
Taken from their website, “from majestic Arizona weddings set amongst beautiful red rock canyons, to rustic chic weddings at gorgeous resort spas, your Sedona destination wedding is sure to deliver oodles of natural splendor and sun-drenched Southwestern landscapes.”
Cinematography is modern Videography
Cinematography is a variation of the term videography that is being used more lately to be set apart from your Grandparents wedding video. Many folks still have a picture in their head of a boring VHS tape that was watched once and now sits in a dusty old shoebox until it crumbles, however most people know that modern wedding videography involves rich colors and great sound with chapter points to watch individual parts or the entire wedding movie at your discretion. Multiple HD cameras and carefully crafted editing in a digital format create a product that can be enjoyed many times and shared with future generations.
It’s also important to note that often a wedding videographer will decide to provide a finished product that is a very short (20 minutes or so) highly condensed overview of the wedding day, even after spending considerable time at the event collecting raw footage. This is partly a stylistic choice and partly due to the enormous file sizes of High Definition Video.
3 Oceans Entertainment prefers to use a different technique than most. As Phoenix, Scottsdale and Sedona AZ Wedding Cinematographers (statewide service for DJ, Photography and Videography in Arizona,) we like to start with an opening montage including establishing shots of the venue and look of the day, some getting ready scenes, and other special moments set to a song or two that is added into the background. Then the ceremony in its entirety including the natural sound, which is the real audio captured with wireless and shotgun microphones plus camera audio, so the spoken words, music, and audience sound is all clearly heard. Often the license is signed next. The photo shoot that happens over the next hour or so quite often gives us footage to create another montage section set to added music. These montage sections take the place of an overly trimmed highlight by allowing a short section or two to show folks who don’t want to watch the whole wedding movie. After that, the other formal events such as First Dance and so forth are captured as they unfold, and presented with reductions of the repetitive sections such as open dancing. Sometimes the Bride and Groom would like to hear and see recorded Best Wishes and these are included in a separate section if desired. It’s all put together to be interesting and watchable, often around an hour and a half to two hours in length – plenty long to include all the action, but not so long that the viewer loses interest.
On the production side, two or more HD video cameras are used, to provide the ability in editing to switch back and forth between angles and increasing face time. Many locations have limitations on movement, and even if they did not we prefer to work without distracting guests. The backup in case of mechanical or technical difficulty is comforting as well, especially in the context of event videography that cannot be recreated with the option of yelling “cut” and “take two!”
Good audio is critical, and the combination of multiple feeds in post production is the best way to achieve this. Words, sound, music and images all come together to paint a magical picture.
